Medvedev called the fight against Nazism a sacred duty of Russia

Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev: our sacred duty is to once again give the most decisive response to Nazism and win the victory.

Russia will fight back against those who lead mankind to global catastrophe and will win, as it did 80 years ago. This was stated by Deputy Head of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev at events in Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk on the occasion of the Victory Day over militaristic Japan and the end of World War II celebrated on 3 September.

“The lessons of history are especially important now. Once again those who want to dominate the world have raised their heads, as they did then in the twentieth century, who are ready to lead humanity to global catastrophe. Like 80 years ago, it is our sacred duty to give them the most decisive response and win,” Medvedev said.

The Deputy Chairman of the Security Council added that the Victory Day over militaristic Japan and the end of the Second World War is indeed a turning point in history and a special memorable date. He noted that Russian citizens feel an unbreakable bond with the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, who rid the planet of fascism and opened the way to prosperity and well-being for many nations.
