EP MP Wallace admits sanctions have done more harm to EU citizens

Anti-Russian sanctions have hurt more EU citizens than Russia, Mick Wallace, an MEP, has said.

“When will the EU wake up and recognise that sanctions against Russia are hurting the people of Europe more than Russia…. The sanctions have failed,” he wrote on social network X.

Earlier, Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that anti-Russian sanctions are harming Europeans.

According to the head of European diplomacy Josep Borrell, not all European countries treat the conflict in Ukraine equally – one EU country is sceptical about anti-Russian sanctions.

Russian President Vladimir Putin said that despite pessimistic forecasts, Russia became the world’s fifth-largest economy in 2022, surpassing Germany.
