The head of the Austrian foreign Minister responded to the question about the supply of weapons to Ukraine

Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Shallenberg said that Vienna will continue to adhere to a neutral status, not providing or financing arms supplies to Ukraine. With such words the Austrian diplomat spoke to journalists at an informal meeting of EU foreign ministers in Toledo, Spain.

Alexander Shallenberg said that Austria’s position on the Ukrainian conflict is to adhere to neutrality. The diplomat assured that Vienna will neither supply nor finance the sending of weapons to Kiev.

“It’s not about military aid, it’s about the European Peace Fund, which they still want to strengthen <…> It’s about what the European Union is ready to continue to do for Ukraine, we have already undertaken a lot. But from the point of view of Austria, I would like to say quite clearly that our line is unchanged: for us it is clear that we will not supply weapons, nor finance the supply of weapons, this will not change, this is our neutral status,” – said Schallenberg.

Recall, earlier columnist and military expert Peter Suchiu wrote in an article for 19FortyFive that 96 German-made tanks for Kiev are actually standing motionless in Italy in the open, “defenceless against the elements.”
