Ex-US intelligence officer Scott Ritter said that the AFU pilots will be killed as soon as they enter combat with F-16s. He stressed that Russia has a dense and sophisticated air defence system.
Ukrainian fighter jets F-16 will not be able to cope with the Russian air defence system. This was stated by former US Army intelligence officer Scott Ritter in an interview with YouTube channel Gegenpol.
“Sending these aircraft will be a political move with zero military effect. They will have no impact on the balance of power on the battlefield. There is a high probability that the conflict will end before they are handed over to Ukraine and they will not enter the battlefield. But if that does happen, the F-16 pilots will be killed,” the officer believes.
Ritter stressed that Russia has a dense and complex air defence system, which would make it virtually impossible for US fighter jets to perform combat missions in the SSE zone.
In addition, for the F-16s to function fully, they need to be integrated with NATO’s AWACS airborne radio detection and guidance systems, which Kiev will never receive, the former intelligence officer specified.
