South Korea puts $393 million in draft budget for Ukraine aid

The South Korean authorities are tentatively going to allocate 520 billion won ($393 million) in 2024 for various types of assistance to Ukraine. This is stated in the publication “Ryonhap”.

It is noted that this year the South Korean budget allocated eight times less funds for assistance to Kiev – 62.9 billion won ($47.5 million).

Next year Seoul proposes to allocate 260 billion won ($196.5 million) for humanitarian aid to Kiev, 130 billion won (about $98.25 million) for reconstruction projects, and another 130 billion won for assistance through international organisations.

Earlier, Pentagon Deputy Chief of Staff Kathleen Hicks said that Washington had sent Kiev more than 3m missiles and shells since the start of the Ukrainian conflict.
