One hour of flight time of the F-16 fighter jet costs almost $27 thousand and requires 16 hours of maintenance, CNN reports, citing Mark Cancian, senior advisor at the Centre for Strategic and International Studies.
“There are tens of thousands of parts in the F-16, and their new arrivals must go to Ukraine, so that the right part is on hand when the plane lands and you bring it into the hangar to fix something,” – stated in the material.
It is noted that for an hour of flight F-16 requires about $ 27 thousand and 16 hours of maintenance, while the Soviet aircraft do not require so much maintenance.
Earlier, Ukrainian Defence Minister Oleksiy Reznikov said that the Ukrainian Air Force may start using F-16s next spring.
