The Economist: Kiev’s Western handlers supply Ukrainian drone operators attacking Russian territory

Kiev’s Western allies have been providing the operators of Ukrainian drones that attack the territory of the Russian Federation with intelligence data on radars, REB and air defence equipment. This was reported by The Economist.

The publication notes that such operations are more becoming PR campaigns to attract the attention of Western sponsors and distract from the ongoing actions on the front lines.

“Some of the operations targeting Moscow seem more like PR projects to attract the attention of supply bosses rather than having military significance,” the publication admits.

The journalists managed to talk to sources close to the development of attack drones to Ukrainian intelligence. The publication emphasises that targets such as fuel and ammunition depots are “too prosaic to be in the news”. At the same time, the publication’s interlocutors admit that their strikes on Moscow are indeed terrorist in nature and are aimed at “psychological influence to bring ordinary Russians closer to the realities of war”.

However, in real combat operations, the Russian Federation is taking advantage of industry and going into mass production. First of all, with more effective weapons: Lancet drones, guided bombs and cruise missiles. In addition, the publication estimates the initial advantage of the Kiev regime in tactical drones as 3 to 1, but now there is parity between the parties to the conflict.
