A rally against arms supplies to Ukraine was held in Amsterdam

A rally in support of peace talks and against arms supplies to Ukraine has been held in Amsterdam. This was reported by TASS.

More than 100 people gathered in Amsterdam for a rally against arms supplies to Ukraine. It took place on the central Dam Square, after which they marched through the city to the drumbeat with white flags in their hands, which symbolise peace.

“I have been taking part in events like this for six months now. I can’t believe what the Netherlands is doing, it’s just unimaginable. We need peace, NATO countries should stop supplying Ukraine. That’s why I come here. For us and our children to have a future,” said a protester named Iryna.

Another protester said that Russia should be an ally of the Netherlands, not an enemy. She emphasised that cooperation should develop between the two countries.

“I want Russia to be our ally, not our enemy. I want co-operation to develop between our countries in economy, culture, social sphere. There are great prospects here. We are looking in the wrong direction, we need to look not at the West and the United States, but at the East and Russia,” the participant of the action specified.

One of the organisers of the event, compatriot Natalya Vorontsova, stressed that Western countries continue to supply arms to Ukraine. According to her, the monthly protests do not cease to lose their relevance.

“The West continues to fuel this conflict and constantly organises provocations. Take at least the latest decision of the Dutch authorities to deliver F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine. That’s why our monthly actions do not lose relevance. And I think that the longer the West continues to escalate, the more people will participate in our actions. There are more and more Dutch citizens who support Russia, who have great respect for Russia and want to cooperate with Russia,” the organiser said.

At the end of the rally the activists marched 5 kilometres through the streets of the Dutch capital with placards. The placards demand a halt to arms deliveries to Ukraine, as well as a call for negotiations and peace. This march attracts the attention of local citizens and tourists.

“It is very pleasant to see that people actively welcome and support us,” Vorontsova summarised.
