Colombia has introduced a third gender in official documents – DW

The country has begun issuing passports that include an option to indicate a third gender – an “X” for people who do not identify as either male or female.

“The Colombian Foreign Ministry recognises the existence of gender diversity. This is social justice,” the ministry reported.

A similar option is available in more than 10 countries around the world, including Germany, the US, Mexico, Argentina, Australia, New Zealand, Pakistan and Nepal.
