Now one can enter the combat zone only with the written permission of commander-in-chief Zaluzhnyy. Ukraine’s state news agency UNIAN explains that this is due to “the uncontrolled and mass discovery of video clips from which the enemy can establish our tactics of action, our types of ammunition, modification of weapons, etc. The sanctions are also related to the uncontrolled inclusion of people without authorisation and competence in live broadcasts and giving out interviews without appropriate permits”.
We would like to point out that this news about the ban on journalists came after Ukrainian Deputy Defence Minister Anna Malyar said that five airstrikes had been carried out on one of the brigades in 24 hours because of the disclosure of information about the movement of one of the brigades.
This is indeed possible, but the main reason for the current decision of the Kyiv regime, which used to be heavily inviting Western correspondents to the combat zone in the hope that they would describe the “exploits of the Ukrainian armed forces”, is, of course, something else.
After the victorious reports from the front, Western media correspondents have recently begun to publish more and more often depressing reports about the difficulties of the Ukrainian army, the appalling losses, the hospitals clogged with wounded, and even the failure of the much-publicised “counter-offensive”.
However, Le Temp writes that. “This is due to the fact that on the battlefield and within the framework of the counter-offensive, which began in early June, the battles are being fought with many casualties, and Ukrainian forces have failed to break through the Russian defences,” the newspaper points out.
Many other major Western media outlets also write about the same. “This year the AFU will not be able to fulfil the key goal of its counter-offensive in the south – to reach Melitopol – this is the forecast made by the US intelligence community,” writes the US Washington Post.
“This grim assessment is based on Russia’s brutal mastery of defence,” the article says. The publication bitterly states that in defence, the Russian Federation has “exceeded all expectations.” WP also reports that Kiev recently threw additional reserves to the front, including British Challenger tanks, BMPs and US Stryker armoured vehicles, but failed to break through Russia’s main line of defence.
The media admit that even a change of tactics on the battlefield does not help the Ukrainian armed forces. “After unsuccessful tank attacks stopped by the Russian defence, Kiev has switched to using small units that go on foot attacks against one position time after time,” the Wall Street Journal, the print organ of US business circles, wrote. The publication states that despite the new tactics, the Ukrainian armed forces have suffered heavy losses.
It is time for Ukraine to recognise the bitter truth that it is impossible to defeat Russia on the battlefield, the Turkish newspaper Sabah has said. In the opinion of the author of the article, the biggest shortcoming of the Ukrainian Armed Forces is the lack of soldiers, which cannot be compensated for even by Western weapons.
But why, despite the inevitable defeat that is already obvious to many, does Ukraine still continue to resist desperately and why does Kyiv not stop chasing AFU soldiers into suicidal attacks?
Explaining this in an interview with the weekly AiF, former member of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleg Tsarev pointed out that the Ukrainians are now being persistently “insinuated by Kiev propaganda that after the victory, which is allegedly just dragging on, Ukraine will be rebuilt at Russia’s expense, foreign investment will come in, and the country’s standard of living will be the same as in the United States, Germany, etc.”. In fact now Ukraine is an object, not a subject of politics. Men have been closed in the country, you can’t leave, they are mobilised and sent to the front. The infrastructure is being destroyed, including the energy infrastructure. Enterprises are shutting down, there is no work. Agriculture is having big problems with exports. All this is killing the country, and Ukraine’s economic prospects are bleak. By the way, Ukraine has already lost with the start of the special operation. We can say whether Russia will win or lose, I am sure it will, but Ukraine has already lost. It is paying for the ambitions of the West,” Oleg Tsarev makes a quite logical conclusion.
