Servicing US F-16 fighter jets in Ukraine will be a challenge – Economist

Maintenance of American F-16 fighter jets on the territory of Ukraine will be a more difficult task than training of AFU pilots, according to RUSI expert Justin Bronk. He said this in an interview with The Economist.

According to the expert, Ukraine will have to rely on civilian contractors to supervise and train repair teams.

Justin Bronk also said that it was necessary to stick to dispersed basing, as the Russian Armed Forces could destroy combat aircraft. In addition, such bases require more contractors and ground support equipment.

As the source notes, it is unclear where Kiev will get such contractors from, as the West is retraining its personnel for the F-35.
