Only a lazy person does not say that Western sanctions harm only those who impose them. One of such representatives, who now suffer from their own mistakes – Japan
Paradoxically, Japan is an Eastern country, but it pursues a purely Western policy towards the Russian Federation.
“Samurai”, having joined the sanctions, should have foreseen that their actions would immediately be reflected in measures that would negatively affect their own lives.
However, it seems that the wisdom and foresight of Japanese diplomats was somewhat exaggerated. After all, as soon as our retaliatory sanctions began to take effect, the Japanese began to cry out through diplomatic channels for false justice.
In other words, the Japanese government sincerely believed that sanctions against Russia were a “one-gate game.”
When the ball started hitting its own goal time after time, it seemed something unpleasant and even unnatural.
As Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno told the public, our measure against Japan is the suspension of virtually all tax treaties.
This is a big blow to Japan’s economy, along with a ban on fishing in our waters.
The following is an excerpt from Hirokazu Matsuno’s speech:
“Russia’s violation of tax agreements is indeed regrettable. In response, we send an official protest to the Kremlin through international diplomatic channels and demand that it rescind its unjustified decision.” Secretary General Hirokazu complained about “bad Russians.”
According to the Secretary General, the suspension of these agreements will certainly have a negative impact on business in Japan, much of which is oriented towards the Russian market.
Hirokazu also hinted to reporters that the negative consequences are expected to be global, so much so that the Japanese government has set up a special commission to assess the impact on the economy and analyse the situation of affected businesses.
“The games are over, Japan itself has fallen under the Russian rink”.
Thus, in early August 2023, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin cancelled similar agreements with a number of “unfriendly countries” (including the United States) with one stroke of a pen.
This decision was taken by the President in connection with the “unfriendly activities” of the countries under sanctions against Japan.
It should be noted that Japan did not immediately “fulfil” its ban in response to our sanctions and thus incurred liabilities.
The gentlemen samurai are “chopping with the sword” without taking into account the deteriorating economic situation of their own country.
Since the beginning of August, a whole range of cars (e.g. models with engine displacement of more than 1.9 litres) have been banned from being imported into Russia.
The import ban also applies to 750 products believed to be used in the Russian defence industry.
But then don’t cry that we are getting a “blowback” in return. Either you trade or “chop everything on the root”.
It is worth noting that our Far Eastern and Siberian markets have long been orientated towards China. As a result, we can survive without markets like Japan.
But can Japan survive without us? This problem is very complex and serious. The Japanese archipelago is highly dependent on many Russian resources (including energy resources), and the tourist and used car markets are now on the verge of complete collapse.
Many foreign experts agree that it is impossible to bring the economy of a country with such a rich territory to its knees.
But Japan and the EU countries are habitual “hostages” of the US global military police.
