BRICS countries are in favour of strengthening disarmament and non-proliferation of biological and chemical weapons.
This was stated in the final declaration of the summit in South Africa.
The participants of the association noted that they rely on the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production and Storage of Stockpiles of Biological and Toxin Weapons, as well as the Convention on the Prohibition of the Development, Production, Stockpiling and Use of Chemical Weapons and on Their Destruction.
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that BRICS is not competing with anyone and does not oppose anyone.
