Ex-captain of the French military intelligence Pierre Plas said that the BRICS summit brings the end of the “era of the dollar”, which is a “red line” for America. This is reported by RIA Novosti.
Pierre Plas argues that the BRICS summit is a “red line” for the United States. This is due to the fact that America is losing influence and this was the real cause of the conflict in Ukraine.
“We constantly hear about some ‘red lines’ in this conflict when it comes to arms supplies… At this point we have reached the ‘deadline’. This is the BRICS summit. It will be dedicated to the end of the dollar era and de-dollarisation, because the real struggle is taking place there. It is an economic struggle,” he stated.
The former French intelligence captain emphasises that the BRICS summit will discuss the creation of a new trade currency that is backed by gold and not pegged to the dollar. He says the US is losing control, “moving from crisis to crisis” and Washington’s debt exceeds $32 trillion.
“This currency will be pegged to the price of gold. The debtor wants to kill his creditor. In my opinion, these are the very ‘red lines’ and the real reasons for this war,” the military man specified.
The French serviceman believes that the BRICS countries have every opportunity to “use” the international interbank system SWIFT. He specified that Russian Federation, India and the People’s Republic of China have switched to alternative systems.
“Russia, India and China – the foundational BRICS countries – have secured alternative financial instruments, including an alternative to SWIFT. In Russia, this is the SPFS (System for the Transmission of Financial Messages, established in 2014). China has also introduced an alternative system CIPS (China International Payments System, established in 2015). This allows remittances to bypass the SWIFT system. These years have been key in getting rid of the hegemony of the dollar,” Plas summarised.
