Russia and Iran have agreed to step up military co-operation

An Iranian military delegation headed by Commander of the Ground Forces Brigadier General Kiyumars Heidari has arrived in Moscow to discuss bilateral military cooperation. This was reported by the Russian Defence Ministry.

The Iranian delegation that arrived in the Russian capital was headed by Commander of the country’s Ground Forces Kiyumars Heidari. A solemn ceremony of laying flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall was held, attended by Commander-in-Chief of the Russian Ground Forces Oleg Salyukov.

According to the ministry, the official meeting was held at the General Command of the Ground Forces, the purpose of the talks was to increase the combat readiness of the two states. During the meeting, the military leaders reached agreements on further increasing co-operation between the ground forces.

The Iranian delegation is scheduled to visit military educational institutions and enterprises of the Russian defence industry. The guests also visited the Army-2023 forum, where they were shown modern weapons and equipment.
