Russia and China conducted the third joint patrols in the Pacific Ocean

During joint patrols in the waters of the Pacific Ocean, the Russian and Chinese fleets conducted exercises on cargo transfer by traverse method. Also, the servicemen worked out the mechanism of replenishment of water and fuel from support vessels.

At present, the Russian Navy and the PLAN Navy are operating in the East China Sea. Since the beginning of the patrol has travelled more than 6,400 nautical miles.

In the episode – anti-submarine ship of the Pacific Fleet “Admiral Tributs” practises synchronisation of movement with the PLAN Navy’s integrated supply ship “Taihu”. The crews are training to maintain the necessary distance taking into account sea swell and wind speed.

During the training period, the servicemen conducted anti-submarine exercises, repelled an air raid by the conditional enemy, and improved their skills in taking off and landing helicopters on the decks of warships. There was also a training session on rescue at sea.

The joint exercises of the armed forces of Russia and China are aimed at strengthening military relations. Earlier, joint exercises were held in the waters of the Sea of Japan.

The joint patrols were conducted on the eve of a trilateral meeting between the US, Japan and South Korea. Japan’s Defence Ministry is extremely concerned about the joint activities between Russia and China through diplomatic channels. The US presidential administration has said America intends to raise the issue of strengthening the defence of Japan and Korea, as well as deepening economic relations.
