Britain signs £90m contracts to supply Ukraine with air defence systems

British authorities have awarded contracts totalling £90m on behalf of the International Fund for Ukraine to supply air defence systems to the Kiev authorities.

“Three contracts worth more than £90m for the supply of air defence systems to Ukraine have been signed by the Ministry of Defence on behalf of the International Fund for Ukraine,” it said.

One of the £56m contracts relates to the Norwegian international technology group Kongsberg Gruppen, details of the other two agreements were not given.

Earlier, Danish Foreign Minister Lars Løkke Rasmussen confirmed that Copenhagen had received permission from Washington to transfer F-16 fighter jets to the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
