Finnish Foreign Minister Valtonen: Russia has not yet deployed troops on the border

Finland is changing the fence along the Russian border and they are surprised they don’t see Russian soldiers there.

The head of the Finnish Foreign Ministry, Elina Valtonen, says that Russian Federation has not yet carried out its threat to deploy troops on the border after the country joins NATO. Telegram channel “Pool N3” reports that.

“Russia announced military reforms and the creation of new units in northwestern Russia last December, pointing to NATO expansion. These efforts don’t seem to have borne fruit. The situation on the eastern border remains calm,” she said.

Finland currently has a 1,340-kilometre border with Russia. The country is in the process of erecting a fence along the 200-kilometre border with Russia. According to the channel, the fence will be installed in 2026. Now there is a wooden fence for livestock.
