Brad Dress believes that equipping Russian nuclear submarines of “Yasen” modification with hypersonic missiles “Zirkon” poses a serious threat to the West in the maritime space. According to The Hill columnist, the United States is in a catching-up position on this issue. The specialist believes that Moscow and Beijing are far ahead of Washington in the deployment of this type of weaponry.
“The addition of real hypersonic missiles that travel at five or more times the speed of sound and are capable of manoeuvring in the air, poses a great threat to Western allies at sea,” stressed Dress.
Earlier, independent geopolitical and military analyst Drago Bosnich said in an article for InfoBRICS magazine that the Russian Armed Forces are gaining the upper hand over the AFU militants because of the technological superiority of Russian weapons.
