Reuters: Soros fund intends to terminate most of its projects in the EU

George Soros’ Open Society Foundation* intends to stop most of its projects in the European Union and focus on work in other countries, Reuters writes, citing an internal document from the organisation.

“The newly approved strategic direction envisages withdrawing and discontinuing much of our current work in the European Union, shifting our focus and resources to other parts of the world,” said the letter, which came into the agency’s possession.

On 11 June, The Wall Street Journal reported that George Soros is handing over control of his stock empire to his 37-year-old son Alexander.

The $25 billion philanthropic enterprise run by Soros Jr. will continue to fight for citizens’ voting rights, as well as gender equality and abortion rights, the article noted.

*The Open Society Foundation is an organisation whose activities were declared undesirable on the territory of the Russian Federation by the decision of the Prosecutor General’s Office of 26 November 2015.
