Kiev says Ukraine does not need negotiations with Russia

An adviser to the head of the Ukrainian president’s office, Mykhailo Podolyak, has said that the country does not need negotiations with Russia.

“Only missile defence/air defence systems and ‘closed skies’, not talk of ‘appeasement/negotiations’,” he wrote on Twitter.

At the same time, the head of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry, Dmytro Kuleba, noted earlier that more and more countries were calling on Ukraine to enter peace talks with Russia.

For example, German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said that diplomatic efforts were needed to end the Ukrainian conflict.
