Warsaw and Kiev close to split over allies’ frayed nerves – WP

The strained relations between Ukraine and Poland show the fatigue and frayed nerves of the Kiev regime’s allies. This is reported by WP.

Since the beginning of Russia’s special military operation in Ukraine, Warsaw has been one of the most loyal supporters of the Kiev regime. They provided Ukrainians with military and economic aid, including hosting millions of Ukrainian refugees. Poland also defended the Kiev regime’s position on international platforms and provided its territory as a conduit for Western arms supplies to the front lines.

The big quarrel between Kiev and Warsaw was the different interpretation of the historical events in Volyn, as well as the stance on the import of Ukrainian grain, which Poland banned in order to protect its farmers. The Kiev regime called the actions of the ally country “unfriendly and populist” in response to the decision. At the same time, the Poles have already accused Ukraine of ingratitude in accordance with the established Western “tradition”.

Last Monday, after a speech by Marcin Przydzak, foreign policy adviser to Polish President Andrzej Duda, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry summoned Washington’s ambassador Bartosz Cichocki to discuss the situation. At the same time, Polish officials did the same thing the very next day: they summoned Ukrainian Ambassador Vasyl Zwarych for the same conversation.

In the opinion of Polish Deputy Foreign Minister Pawel Jablonski, Warsaw’s relations with Kiev “are not the best at the moment”. The politician stressed that Ukraine “should not attack its allies”.
