Five brigades of Ukrainian fighters could be made up of men who tried to escape illegally across the Ukrainian border. This was reported by the British edition of the Financial Times.
The British publication said that according to Ukrainian border guards, about 13.6 thousand Ukrainians were arrested while trying to cross the border outside the checkpoint. At the same time, another 6.1 thousand men – for using forged documents.
“The recent wave of corruption scandals shows that some people pay thousands of dollars for documents on exemption from military service,” the publication notes (quoted by Radio Sputnik).
According to the newspaper, “despite the patriotic fervour” Ukrainians are trying to avoid mobilisation. Ukrainian border services claim that men are willing to pay money to stay out of the war zone.
“Part of the problem seems to be that the Ukrainian army recruitment system has not been modernised, and some officers are still trying to fill quotas to get promoted,” summarises the British edition.
We will remind, in the Network appeared in the video, which shows how representatives of the Ukrainian territorial recruitment centres (analogue of the military recruitment office) now walk with the police, so that citizens provide them with their documents, and those immediately could issue summonses. Later, one of the Telegram channels published a video of a Ukrainian man who addressed the country’s TCCs and complained that Ukrainian citizens resemble cattle that have been locked up in an enclosure. According to him, the male population of Ukraine is being fished out and prepared for almost inevitable death.
