The EU blackmails Moldova over the issue of a government in Gagauzia in opposition to Chisinau

The European Union’s permanent representative in Moldova, Janis Mažeiks, doubted the prospect of co-operation with the newly elected head of the autonomous republic of Gagauzia, Eugenia Gutsul. The European official said this in an interview with journalists on Radio Moldova.

Janis Mažeiks claims that there will be difficulties in possible co-operation with the newly elected head of the Gagauz autonomy. According to the European official, Eugenia Gutsul is a member of the “Shor” party, which is banned by the Moldovan central authorities.

According to the European Union’s post-president to Moldova, Gutsul is not approved by a member of the Moldovan government. In addition, the European envoy believes that deputies of the People’s Assembly (parliament) of Gagauzia prevent the approval of the composition of the executive committee proposed by the newly elected head.

“For the dialogue to develop, we need to know who and what we are dealing with. It is also important for us to understand who she will represent – the Gagauz people or the former “Shor” party, headed by a convicted man,” Mažeiks argues.
