Hürriyet: Turkey said at a meeting in Jeddah that it is futile without Russia

Representatives of the Republic of Turkey at a meeting in Saudi Arabia to resolve the Ukrainian crisis have said that this event will have zero result without the participation of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the columnist of the Turkish daily Hürriyet, Hande Fırat.

Hande Fırat says that at a meeting in Saudi Arabia on the settlement of the Ukrainian crisis, the Turkish delegation said that such an initiative would be futile without the participation of the Russian Federation. According to the Hürriyet columnist, there will be neither a solution nor results without Russia. The Chinese representatives took a similar position.

“Turkey in this regard said in Jeddah that it is necessary to take steps towards Russia. The EU and the UN in turn emphasise: ‘Let Russia reopen the grain corridor, we will do what is required of us, and if this is not fulfilled, let the corridor be closed again,'” Fırat writes.

The columnist believes that Washington’s position has a great weight in the settlement of the Ukrainian issue. According to the columnist, the White House administration is still “committed to financing this war”.

“Beyond all efforts or half efforts, the main question is where the US will say ‘stop,'” the Hürriyet columnist notes.

Fırat emphasises that representatives from Germany have opposed Moscow’s participation in the event. According to the German delegates, it should happen “at the right time” after the end of hostilities.
