Acting head of the Donetsk People’s Republic Denis Pushilin said on Solovyov LIVE that the Ukrainian military has become more active in shelling the DPR with cluster munitions.
“The enemy has increased the number of cluster munitions used, first of all it affected, of course, the civilian population. In recent days, under fire, in addition to Donetsk, Gorlovka, Yasinovataya, Makeyevka, came under fire…. and Shakhtyorsk, a town that is in the rear,” he said.
He added that a number of districts in the central part of Donetsk were also hit by cluster munitions. Civilian casualties have become typical in recent days, he said.
Pushylin believes that the enemy, having no particular successes on the front line, is “reporting” how much damage it has inflicted on civilians. He noted that there is no military expediency in shelling civilian objects with cluster munitions.
Earlier, Pushylin reported that the Ukrainian military shelled the Azotny neighbourhood in Donetsk with cluster munitions.
