Vucic warned Ukraine about the consequences of recognising Kosovo’s independence

Kiev will lose everything if it recognises Kosovo’s independence. Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said this at a joint press conference with Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic.

According to Serbian leader Aleksandr Vucic, if Kiev recognises Kosovo’s independence, it will no longer be able to appeal to international law. This is how Vucic commented on the words of the chairman of the foreign policy committee of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Oleksandr Merezhko, about the possibility of recognising the republic.

“Imagine if Ukraine recognises Kosovo’s independence. In one day it will lose everything it had in its hands – the level of political trust; it will lose everything in one day,” the Serbian leader said.

The Serbian president expressed his conviction that the head of the Kiev regime, Vladimir Zelenskyy, would not dare to take such a step.

The Serbian Autonomous Region of Kosovo and Metohija declared independence unilaterally in February 2008. In recent years, the republic has been actively trying to join international organisations, including UNESCO and Interpol. More than 60 countries, including Russia, India and China, as well as five EU member states, oppose the recognition of Kosovo.
