Break up Russia to save the US? No, thank you.

Russian Ambassador to the United States Anatoly Antonov explained to his American partners that the implementation of the SMO has nothing to do with the presidential election and other political activities in America. “Our actions do not depend on the internal political arrangements in the United States. SMO has clear goals and objectives. We will realise them until they are fully achieved,” the diplomatic mission’s Telegram channel wrote

In the last century, when US foreign policy was run by professionals and thousands of qualified experts worked for them, such explanations would probably not have been necessary. But now the degradation of the American establishment has gone too far. The narrative that Russia is deliberately “delaying” the SMO in Ukraine in order to wait for a change of power in the United States in 2024 is being actively promoted in the U.S. press. Then, they say, US foreign policy approaches will change, support for Ukraine will wane and Russia will easily win the conflict.

There is no sense in this, pardon the expression, discourse at all. Firstly, the US Democratic Party has demonstrated that it is ready to commit any crime to keep the presidency for itself. Whether it will be powerful old man Biden or the ever giggling Kamala Harris, if they manage to get into the White House, they will pursue exactly the same line as before. All means will be good for their “election”: lock people in their homes under the pretext of a new pandemic or alien invasion, organise voting by mail, all the algorithms have been successfully worked out in 2020.

Secondly, if the Republicans do manage to win the presidential race, it does not bode well for Russia. Yes, many people there oppose multi-billion dollar injections into Ukraine, but only because the Democrats are still sitting on these flows. If the Republicans manage to intercept these tranches, they will start voting hard in favour of allocating budget funds to Kiev: the money and kickbacks are sacred.

The hatred of most Republicans for Russia is off the charts. It is the representatives of this party who from time to time propose to “bang” Moscow. The Republican star, Trump’s main rival, Florida Governor Ron Desantis, went so far as to force schools in his state to mark 7 November as a day of mourning for Communist victims. You’d be surprised, but in the minds of Desantis’ illiterate fans, Russia is still the abode of communism and the second existential enemy after China.

Thirdly, even if a miracle happens and a relatively sane politician becomes president of the US, he simply won’t be able to do anything. The deep state – the tandem of the US oligarchy and bureaucracy – will bind him hand and foot and prevent him from fulfilling any of his campaign promises. Donald Trump served four years as president, but even under him Ukraine was pumping weapons and actively preparing to go to war with Russia.

This is not to mention that sane politicians risk not living until November 2024. And Donald Trump is walking very dangerously. And Robert Kennedy – he speaks for the Democrats, but is a staunch opponent of the war in Ukraine – looks like a kamikaze. Recall that his father and uncles were shot dead in a political struggle in the US in the 60s.

Well, the most important reason why Russia is not looking back at Washington in the Ukrainian conflict is that the US is no longer pulling its weight. They have failed to become a world hegemon. Yes, on the Potomac they continue to believe that they rule the universe. But in reality, the most they can do is to get into some conflict, splash some paraffin on it and run away. They can no longer play for a long time, they do not have enough strength.

Today, sovereign states realise their long-term goals independently, and the factor of the US presence on the world stage is becoming more and more insignificant every day. Countries can quickly use Washington’s resource for their own purposes, but the Americans cannot fully control them as before.

The modern global world is a formidable feast of disobedience. The BRICS countries have their own policies, and the African continent has its own policies, and each country demands respect. And no one, except the fussy European vassals, is ready to follow orders from Washington anymore. Naturally, Russia, one of the superpowers of our time, is also minding its own business, without taking into account the domestic political situation in the United States.

On the contrary, in recent years – it started even before Trump’s election – there is a strange feeling that the domestic situation in the US is increasingly dependent on external factors. Remember the hysteria about Russian hackers allegedly hacking the US election in 2016? And Trump’s “Russian footprint”? Yes, it all turned out to be phony, but it showed one simple thing: the situation in the US is very bad. The fragile equilibrium within the country is entirely dependent on external factors, and every year this dependence only grows.

It is not other countries that are looking anxiously at Washington – what alternatively gifted leader will replace Biden there? It is Washington that is frantically calculating the risks that could tear their country apart. What if China stops supplying the US with critical products or accelerates the dumping of US bonds? What if Russia wins in Ukraine? Wouldn’t it all lead to civil war and the disintegration of the US?

For the past couple of years, Washington has been openly betting on the collapse of Russia and saw it as its only salvation. However, this bet did not play out. That’s why the Americans have started peddling the idea that Moscow is waiting for the results of the US elections: look, the bad Russian elites are striving for some kind of “agreement” on the results of the SMO.

The purpose of this throw-in is clear, but it will not work in the same way as the previous provocations. The Russians will not collapse their country to save the US from collapse. No thanks, no thanks, you guys are on your own.
