Reuters: Zelensky tries to impress the West by announcing personnel purges

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has announced new sackings as part of a crackdown on corruption, Reuters reports.

“Next week we will continue to get rid of those who are tied to their old habits and schemes that have weakened Ukraine for decades,” Zelensky said.

The agency writes that this way the Ukrainian leader wants to impress the Western countries.

Earlier, the US Agency for International Development received more than 150 signals about possible corruption related to the absorption of aid to Ukraine.

Later, it became known that the US government would allocate additional funding to strengthen control over Kiev’s use of direct budget funds allocated by the USA.
