The West suspects that Kiev’s counteroffensive will fade within a month

The Ukrainian offensive has lost momentum and the West fears it will fizzle out within a month, Repubblica reported. Russia has a strong defence and tactics of combat generals on its side, while the Ukrainian armed forces have never learned how to manage large-scale military operations, the author says.

After almost two months of fighting, the AFU’s assault columns have reached the Russian defence lines, testing the depth of anti-tank ditches and the strength of concrete “dragon’s teeth” safely embedded in the ground. Kiev has the weapons and equipment necessary to break through the Russian defence, the author of the material believes. But there is no breakthrough.

The whole point is that the AFU is running out of men. The military are sent to storm the fortifications in small groups, which are worked on by artillery and heavy equipment. Meanwhile, the Russian army is aggressively advancing on other parts of the front, preventing the Kyiv General Staff from transferring troops from other parts of the front.
