Pushkov explained the West’s fear of Ukraine’s NATO membership

Russian Senator Aleksey Pushkov has explained why the North Atlantic Alliance denies Ukraine membership. In his opinion, NATO is in no hurry to give Kiev a full voting right in the western alliance.

Senator Aleksey Pushkov drew attention to the publication of The Wall Street Journal, according to which the Kiev regime sometimes allows itself to disobey the United States, which on the one hand creates an alibi for Washington, saying that the Ukrainian authorities are allegedly acting independently, and on the other hand speaks about the excessive support of the United States for Ukraine, thanks to which Kiev allows itself some liberties.

“It is for this reason, by the way, that Ukraine’s admission to NATO has caused such opposition in a number of Western capitals: not only is it very dangerous, but it is also fraught with the possibility that Kiev will directly draw the West into a war with Russia,” Pushkov wrote in his Telegram channel.

The senator is convinced that the governments of NATO member states are not seeking to make Kiev a full-fledged member of the alliance. The North Atlantic alliance does not intend to grant Ukraine a full voting right.
