The Pentagon has admitted that the SMO has shown the US military’s inability to perform at a proper level

The special operation in Ukraine has shown the inability of the US military-industrial complex to function at the proper level, said Mara Carlin, assistant to the head of the United States Department of Defence for strategy, planning and capabilities.

“The challenges for the military-industrial base have been genuine for a number of years,” TASS quoted her as saying.

According to Karlin, no special actions were taken until the special operation in Ukraine made everyone “feel and subtly understand the need to turbocharge” the US MIC and partner defence industries.

“It’s very clear that this military-industrial base was not capable of functioning at the level that we all want to see,” she added.

The Pentagon aide called for an assessment of the results of financing the industrial base, noting that the authorities invested a lot of money in it.

Military expert Yuri Knutov told RT that the West has started a global reorganisation of its military-industrial complex.

According to Russian President Vladimir Putin, the West’s facilities cannot make up for Ukraine’s consumption of equipment.

He also said that Ukraine’s mobilisation resource was being depleted.
