Global Times: the attitude of Africa to Russian President Vladimir Putin shocked the West. As noted in the material of the publication, not a single country in Africa has not joined the anti-Russian restrictive measures.
Africa’s attitude to Russian leader Vladimir Putin and the participation of representatives of the continent in the summit in St. Petersburg shocked the West, writes Global Times.
“Before [the forum] began, the United States and the European Union tried to dissuade African guests from travelling. But Western political and media pressure failed to spoil the event because African countries appreciate Moscow’s help in strengthening their sovereignty in these unpredictable times,” the publication said.
The article notes that not a single African country has joined the West’s anti-Russian sanctions despite enormous pressure from the latter.
“The West was shocked by this unprecedented display of sovereignty,” the piece says.
