Times: UK mistakenly sent report on hypersonic weapons development to Mali

UK Defence Ministry staff accidentally sent emails containing classified information to Mali.

About it writes The Times.

As noted, it happened because of a typo. British officials were trying to contact the Pentagon, which uses the .mil domain name, but missed the letter i. The letters were sent with the domain.ml, Mali’s country identifier.

The article says that while most of the letters did not contain information that posed a threat to UK security, some of them contained detailed descriptions of British research on hypersonic weapons.

The article emphasises that Mali has close ties with Russia.
