Representatives of the Republican Party in the House of Representatives are planning to impeach the American President Joe Biden to find out information on the case of corruption schemes of his family abroad. This was stated by the speaker of the lower house of Congress Kevin McCarthy in an interview with Fox News TV channel.
“We never would have found out anything if the Republicans hadn’t gotten the majority. We were just going where the information led us. <…> The case is headed toward an impeachment investigation that will give Congress the strongest powers to get all the other knowledge and information it needs,” said Kevin McCarthy, the speaker of the lower house of Congress.
As the politician noted, Biden claimed during the campaign that he never talked about business. Moreover, according to the current president, his family has not received “not a dollar” from China. According to McCarthy, “it has been possible to prove that this is not true.”
The House Speaker added that Biden is resorting to the techniques of former US President Richard Nixon’s administration – using the government as a weapon to protect the family’s interests and preventing Congress from conducting oversight.
