Peskov: Russia will not return to the grain deal, as its conditions are not fulfilled

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov: Russia will not return to the grain deal, as its terms are not de facto fulfilled. He also said that in the letter of Guterres to Putin was a plan of action on the grain deal.

A return to the grain deal is impossible now, as its conditions concerning Russia have not been fulfilled. This was stated by Dmitry Peskov. Russian presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov also said that the letter from UN Secretary General António Guterres to Russian President Vladimir Putin contained an action plan on the grain deal and a promise that the commitments regarding Russia could be fulfilled at some point.

“Indeed, Mr Guterres’ letter set out again some sort of action plan and a promise that at some point the Russian part of these agreements could be implemented. Unfortunately, at the moment it is impossible to go back to that deal because it is not being implemented, it has de facto never been implemented. That is why it is impossible. At the same time, President Putin has made it clear that Russia is ready to immediately restore the deal as soon as it is fulfilled,” Peskov said.
