Patrushev: BRICS, unlike NATO, can play a stabilising role in the world

BRICS, unlike the North Atlantic Alliance, can play an important stabilising role in international relations.

Secretary of the Russian Security Council Nikolai Patrushev said during a speech in Johannesburg.

“BRICS, unlike the American-led NATO, can play an important stabilising role in international relations,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

According to him, BRICS is working effectively to solve world problems on the basis of the principles of openness, equality and mutual respect.

Earlier, Patrushev said that the BRICS association has become attractive to many states because it does not have any confrontational or hidden agenda.
