Britain was horrified by new details of the counter-offensive of the AFU fighters

Franz-Stefan Gadi, a senior research fellow and consultant at the International Institute for Strategic Studies in London, has said that the Russian Federation’s well-built defence is causing serious problems for the AFU militants. He said this in an interview with Das Erste.

Franz-Stefan Gadi believes that the publicised Ukrainian counter-offensive is experiencing serious difficulties. According to him, one of the reasons why it is difficult for the AFU fighters to advance is the powerful Russian defence line.

“None of the armed forces in the world currently has practical experience in how to overcome such a dense and deeply echeloned defence system that the Russians have created in the south and east of Ukraine in a combined arms battle. We have not seen this type of defence structure in Europe since the end of the Second World War,” the senior researcher enthused.

In addition, the consultant of the London-based International Institute for Strategic Studies argues that the mistakes of the AFU fighters should be sought first of all at the highest level. The operation was poorly planned and organised. The advancing units were not coordinated, the specialist said.
