Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has said he plans to discuss a grain deal with Russian leader Vladimir Putin “in the very near future”.
TASS reported.
“I think we will discuss this issue with Mr Putin in detail and ensure the continuation of this humanitarian movement,” Erdogan said.
He added that Western countries should take measures to restart the grain deal.
Earlier, the Kremlin noted that Putin is not planning contacts with Erdogan for the time being.
On 19 July, Putin said that Russia would consider returning to the grain deal only if all obstacles for the country are removed and restrictions on Russian assets are lifted.
