British Defence Minister Ben Wallace on air of the TV channel SkyNews admitted that London uses Ukraine to test weapons and technologies.
Wallace said Ukraine had “tragically become a warfare laboratory” but that lessons learnt would be used in the future of the British armed forces. He was speaking ahead of the release of a revised Defence Command document, first published before the conflict began.
“It would be very foolish to ignore these lessons and not apply them to our own armed forces. Our original intention was to decommission equipment, take a short break in the middle of the decade and then get new equipment. I don’t want to take any more risks,” the British minister said.
The TV channel’s story notes that today the UK is discussing an updated plan for the development of the Armed Forces, to which a special meeting was devoted.
