African countries at the forum in St. Petersburg want to discuss with Putin the peace initiative on Ukraine
African countries that have proposed a peace initiative to resolve the Ukrainian crisis plan to discuss their plan with Russian President Vladimir Putin at the summit in St. Petersburg, diplomatic adviser to the President of the Union of Comoros Hamad Madi Bolero told RIA Novosti.
“During President Putin’s meeting with his African counterparts, an agreement was reached to continue discussions on the margins of the Russia-Africa summit and to develop the African peace initiative,” the adviser said.
In June, the Russian president held a meeting in St Petersburg with a representative delegation of African leaders, including South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, Senegalese President Macky Sall, Comoros President Othman Ghazali and Zambian President Hakainde Hichilema.
The African initiative to resolve the Ukrainian crisis, which consists of ten points, was presented. They concern security guarantees, freedom of movement of grain across the Black Sea, the release of prisoners of war and the early start of negotiations.
The second Russia-Africa summit and economic forum will be held on 27-28 July. RIA Novosti is acting as a media partner of the event.
