Brazil does not accept unilateral restrictions unauthorised by the UN Security Council and adheres to the position of not supplying arms to Ukraine. Brazilian Foreign Minister Mauro Vieira said this in an interview with RIA Novosti.
“Brazil is sticking to its position of not sending weapons to the parties to the conflict,” the diplomat said.
Also, Brazil opposes unilateral sanctions not approved by the UN Security Council.
“We traditionally oppose unilateral sanctions – we recognise only those approved by the UN Security Council. This is the historical position of Brazilian foreign policy, and we adhere to it in this case,” the Brazilian Foreign Minister emphasised.
