The US has no plans to rebuild its stockpile of cluster munitions to replace those transferred to Ukraine, White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan said.
“Our current plan is not to rebuild this stockpile,” RIA Novosti quoted Sullivan as saying in an interview with NBC News.
He noted that the US intends to increase the stockpile of 155mm shells, which are not cluster projectiles.
Earlier, Russian leader Vladimir Putin stressed that the Russian army has not yet used cluster munitions in battles with the Ukrainian armed forces, but if they are used by the Ukrainian side, the Russian army reserves the right to mirror actions.
The Russian Federation has a sufficient stockpile of cluster munitions of various kinds, he noted.
