The Chinese defence Ministry announced joint exercises with the Russian Armed Forces in the Sea of Japan

The Chinese Ministry of Defence has announced a joint exercise with the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation in the Sea of Japan called “North. Interaction-2023”.

Joint maritime exercises within the framework of the “North. Interaction-2023” will be held in the Sea of Japan between the Armed Forces of Russia and China. The corresponding information is published on the website of the Ministry of Defence of the People’s Republic of China.

“In accordance with the annual plan of cooperation between the Armed Forces of Russia and China, the Russian military will soon send the Navy and Air Force to participate in the exercise “North. Interaction-2023″, which is organised by the Northern Zone of the combat command of the People’s Liberation Army of China (PLA) and will take place in mid-2023 in the Sea of Japan,” the Chinese Defense Ministry said in a statement.

The publication notes that the purpose of the maritime exercise will be to “maintain the security of strategic sea channels, enhance the level of strategic coordination between the Chinese and Russian armed forces, improve the ability to jointly maintain regional peace and stability and respond to various security challenges.”
