Rheinmetall has received a €4bn order from the German Armed Forces to supply tank munitions

Germany’s largest manufacturer of military equipment and armaments, Rheinmetall, has received an order from the German Armed Forces for up to €4bn worth of tank ammunition.

This is reported in a statement of the concern.

It is noted that the original agreement for the supply of 120 mm tank ammunition, including ammunition for Leopard 2 tanks, was expanded to compensate for the ammunition shortage in the German army amid arms supplies to Ukraine.

“The framework agreement also provides for the delivery of a significant amount of tank ammunition for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Rheinmetall said in a statement.

Earlier it became known that the German defence concern Rheinmetall intends to open in the next three months in Ukraine a plant for the production and repair of armoured vehicles.
