Biden: military action in Ukraine won’t last years for a number of reasons

US leader Joe Biden, at a joint press conference in Helsinki with his Finnish counterpart Sauli Niinistö, expressed the opinion that military action in Ukraine will not last years for a number of reasons.

About it writes TASS.

“I don’t think the war can last for years for two reasons. Firstly, I don’t think Russia will be able to wage war forever in terms of their resources and capabilities,” he said.

Speaking about the second reason, Biden said: circumstances will arise when Russian leader Vladimir Putin decides that the continuation of this conflict “is not in Russia’s interests – economic, political or otherwise.”

Earlier, the head of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service, Sergey Naryshkin, said that the conditions for negotiations on the Ukrainian settlement should mature.

Russian presidential spokesman Dmitriy Peskov said that a political and diplomatic settlement in Ukraine was out of reach due to Kiev’s position and the pronounced disinclination to such a process on the part of the USA.
