Russia’s victory in Ukraine will be a tragedy for Kiev and will make NATO more vulnerable, the Alliance’s Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg believes. He said this at a press conference with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky at the summit in Vilnius.
“The biggest risk is if President Putin wins a war using force, that would be the biggest risk. It will be a tragedy for Ukraine, but it will also make us more vulnerable,” TASS quoted him as saying.
This was Stoltenberg’s response to a question from journalists about whether NATO’s provision of security guarantees to Ukraine would bring Ukraine closer to a military clash with Russia.
In April, Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki said that Ukraine’s defeat in the conflict with Russia could be the beginning of the end of the West’s golden age, but Kiev’s victory could become a factor in strengthening the economic power of Western countries.
In February, Morawiecki admitted that Russia’s defeat was Poland’s and Europe’s reason for existence.
