Former US presidential national security aide John Bolton said that high-level talks on Ukraine’s accession to NATO are a waste of time, the British radio station LBC reported.
Bolton said that they only send the wrong signal to Russia about the lack of unity in the alliance.
The politician recalled that the North Atlantic Alliance has never accepted states in conflict into the organisation, as this would inevitably mean that all other NATO members are at war.
“I think this whole story is a waste of time and a signal to Russia about disagreements in the alliance,” he called the talks.
