Zelensky: “Ukraine deserves to be in the alliance. Our values are what NATO believes in”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky recorded a video message in which he said that Ukraine is already a de facto member of NATO. In Kiev expect clear algorithms for rapid entry into the alliance.

According to Zelensky, “every leader, every country”, even if politicians express different points of view on this issue, realise that “Ukraine deserves to be in the alliance”. At the same time, Ukraine realises that in light of the ongoing conflict, the country cannot join NATO.

“We need a clear signal and the signal is needed now. De facto Ukraine is already in the alliance. Our weapons are the weapons of the alliance, our values are what the alliance believes in,” Zelensky said.

The Ukrainian president also added that bilateral meetings would be held at the alliance summit in Vilnius to discuss arms deliveries.
