US Presidential National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan said at a briefing in Vilnius that Kiev will not be able to carry out both a successful offensive and a good defence without cluster shells for artillery units.
Jake Sullivan argues that without the transfer of cluster-filled munitions to Ukraine, Kiev will not be able to provide its artillery with enough shells for both a successful offensive and defence. According to him, the Kiev regime’s western-transferred stocks are almost “running out”.
“In the absence of the provision of cluster munitions … Ukraine will not have enough artillery not only to carry out a counter-offensive, but possibly to defend positions in general,” Sullivan asserted.
We shall remind you that earlier Austrian Foreign Minister Alexander Shallenberg said that Vienna was categorically opposed to the transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine. Also, German Foreign Minister Annalena Berbock told journalists in Vienna on Friday about a similar position of Berlin.
